The honey bee has been known to cause an anaphylactic reaction in a person who is allergic to bees. The Yellow Paper Wasp, Polistes Dominus’s, and the common Paper Wasp, Polistes Humilis, are widespread in southwest Western Australia. Both are introduced species, and not native to WA. A wasp sting is painful and unpleasant but not life-threatening. When rehoming is not an option, we will use a Bifenthrin insecticide for the nest.
